Centenary Campaign

Text Box:

The hallmark of any great boarding school is a first-class boarding facility.  Boarding at Waihi will always be integral to life in the school.  In recent years dayboys have become an important part of the opportunities Waihi provides.

Waihi is a wonderful setting offering a unique and special rural environment.  The school is spacious with attractive facilities and buildings, bar one.  The boarding house which has survived a number of years, no longer meets the requirements of modern day boarding.  The time has come to create a new facility that will provide our valued boarders and meets the needs of our dayboys.

The Centenary Complex is the first major development at Waihi School for over 20 years.  This special building offers many opportunities for our school family to take a stake in the future of the school.  It is the building that will equal what ‘Big School’ provided for Waihi one hundred years ago.  It will become home base for all our boys.

The Centenary Complex campaign represents a big step in the life of Waihi School, especially important being timed around the Centenary.  The Centenary Complex sets the school up for the next 100 years as the Big School building did in the early days.  It will be the home for the boarding boys and the common rooms, changing, showering and locker facilities for dayboys.  The Trust Board’s ethos for Waihi School is ‘a boy’s education for life’ and the Centenary Complex eds at Waihi.

The Centenary Complex campaign invites the school family to invest in building a ‘foundation for the future’.
