Waihi School Development LogoGiving to Waihi School

Thank you for your interest in supporting Waihi School.  Benevolence is a tradition we rely on as we strive to provide the best education for our boys.    The generosity of our wonderful school family has made our school what it is today.

The role of the Development Office, Foundation and Waihi Association is to support Waihi School Trust Board’s mission.  This is accomplished by connecting with parents, alumni and friends through newsletters, events and fundraising efforts, all for the good of our school.

  • The Development Office has the following objectives:
  • Provide extra facilities through our Annual Fund &  007 Club
  • Undertake capital campaigns to provide the school’s facilities
  • Ensure the school’s future by seeking endowment funds
  • Keep the Waihi family connected

If you are giving to our school we thank you, as it has made a difference.  If you are considering helping us, I invite you to contact me and find out how good it feels to be part of our inspiring and extraordinary school.

With appreciation
Sue Harrison South, Development Manager

“Waihi School’s smallness is our strength, as every boy has the opportunity to excel and practise leadership skills.   Our size encourages flexibility, freedom to embrace new technologies, and the opportunity for me to understand the needs of all our boys.”

Development Plan

Joseph Orford  founded Waihi School in 1907 as an independent preparatory school for boys.  His mission was to provide an excellent education in a country setting at Winchester.

The school was taken over by at Trust Board in 1960 supported generously by parents, old boys, staff and friends.  Waihi is committed to developing leadership in boys with an excellent education in all areas including arts, sciences, technology, languages, music and sports.

The Waihi School Trust Board has a vision for Waihi School with some major developments to be completed. This is a bold development plan that will position Waihi well for the future.
