I have been privilged to be a part of the Waihi family for the last 3 years and I just love the intimacy that the boarding house creates between the children and extended families.
My wife Lisa and I live on site at Waihi and between her role as Lead Occupational Therapist at Ashburton hospital, she is an enthusiastic Matron for the boarders. We have 2 sons, Thomas who is currently in Year 9 at Christ College Harry whose second home is Pyne House!
Outside of school I love to watch and particpate in sport - all sport and any sport! I also enjoy socialising with friends with a nice Guiness or a cheeky glass of wine. We also enjoy travelling and have been fortunate to travel to the UK since covid, but also to explore what NZ has to offer. The scenery is dramatic and simply stunning, the people are so friendly and welcoming and we take every opportunity possible to give new life long experiences to ourselves and our 2 sons.
Best Advice you were ever given?
"Dry Your Eyes" - I love this saying as it speaks of resiliance, strength of character and the realisation that there is always someone who is worse off than yourself! Another favourite that speaks of our effort on the sports pitch is "We will never know" - take a risk, push yourself or you will never find out if you could undertake a particular skill!
